# Startup Timer

> Startup Timer is a free Windows boot time benchmarking app developed by Jouni Flemming and Great Software Company OÜ. It measures how long Windows takes to start and identifies processes and installed apps that slow startup.

This is the official product website. Startup Timer supports Windows 11, 10, 8, 7 and Vista. Both a Windows installer and a portable executable are available. The current published version is 1.3, released August 21, 2025. The download section provides the current file sizes and SHA-256 checksums.

Startup Timer measures the time until the Desktop appears and the time until the system has fully started. The app defines fully started as average CPU usage dropping below 5%. Time spent at the Windows login screen affects the measurement. Results also show which apps contribute to startup slowness.

Submitting results to the public leaderboard is optional. Shared Windows version, CPU, RAM, startup time and comments can appear publicly. Results are not sent if the user does not choose to share them. The homepage shows the fastest Windows 11 and Windows 10 results and the slowest recorded startup times.
